Deadpool plot?
The details about the plot of Deadpool 3 have been kept under wraps, but one thing is certain: Wolverine will be making an appearance. This also means that Hugh Jackman will be reprising his role as Wolverine.
Although the extent of Jackman's involvement in the third movie is not clear, sources have confirmed that his role will be more than just a brief cameo.
Jackman and Reynolds initially hinted at Wolverine's inclusion in the film in a
playful Instagram Reel in September 2022. In the video, Jackman attempted to reveal the plot but was interrupted by the sudden playing of Wham!'s "Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go."
As expected from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, there will be plenty of action. Jackman confirmed this when he spoke to PEOPLE in October 2022, expressing that he anticipates having more fun on this movie than any other he has done before.
Speaking exclusively to PEOPLE, Jackman mentioned, "I think being on set with [Ryan] every day and those two on film in every city together every day ... I think it's fair to say they'll be punching the s--- out of each other the whole time."
In January 2022, Jackman talked about the project once again, stating that the film takes place before the events of the 2017 film Logan and will offer a unique experience for his character.
"When I think of me and Ryan, of Deadpool and Wolverine, who are classic comic-book rivals, there's also a dynamic that I've never really got to do before as Wolverine. I just thought, 'This is gonna be fun. Something I've never done before. I can't wait.'"
Deadpool 3: cast members
Reynolds is set to return as Wade Wilson, popularly known as the witty and sarcastic Deadpool. While the full cast hasn't been officially confirmed, Reynolds dropped hints that Leslie Uggams, who portrays Blind Al, Deadpool's elderly yet spirited roommate, might also make a comeback. Despite their on-screen love-hate dynamic, their real-life bond has fueled speculation about Uggams' return.
When Uggams congratulated Reynolds on The Adam Project's success, reaching number one on Netflix in March 2022, Reynolds replied with a cunning comment. He tweeted, "Thank you, Leslie. I'll see you soon," accompanied by three sword emojis, subtly referencing Deadpool's blades, named Bea and Arthur.
Deadpool 3: Director
Shawn Levy has been announced as the new director for the upcoming Deadpool film, replacing David Leitch. Leitch cited scheduling conflicts as the reason for not returning for the third installment. While this will be Levy's first time directing a Deadpool movie, he has previously worked with the film's star, Ryan Reynolds, in the highly memorable films Free Guy and The Adam Project, making Deadpool 3 their third collaboration together.
